Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the bracket onto the column.
  2. Hand tighten the lower bolt until snug.
  3. Hand tighten the upper bolt until snug.
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Tighten the lower bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  5. Tighten the upper bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

  6. Connect the ignition housing electrical connectors.

    IMPORTANT: Ensure that both locking tabs are seated.
  7. Install the multi-function levers.

  8. Install the upper and lower shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .

    Tighten:  Tighten the shroud screws to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

  9. Install the SIR coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement .
  10. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  11. Connect the negative battery cable.
