Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.

IMPORTANT: In the event a deployment has occurred, refer to Repairs & Inspections Required After a Collision .

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.

Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling & Enabling Zone 5 .
Remove the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.

Disconnect the SIR system from the vehicle wire harness at the yellow 2-way connector.
Remove the fasteners securing the SIR to the I/P support beam.
Push the SIR rearward and rotate the round end downward.
Remove the SIR from the vehicle through the opening in the I/P compartment.
