Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Saturn L300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. For component Installation, refer to Strut, Strut Component and/or Spring Replacement .
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  3. Install the strut assembly to the strut tower using a new attachment nut. Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 55 N.m (40 lb ft).

  5. Install the strut to the steering knuckle using new strut to knuckle fasteners.
    1. Tighten: 
      1. Tighten the fasteners to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
      2. Retighten the fasteners to 100 N.m (73 lb ft) plus an additional 30-40 degrees.
  6. Connect the stabilizer link to the strut. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .

  7. If applicable, connect the ABS harness to the brake bracket.

  9. Connect the brake hose from the brake bracket.
  10. Install the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire & Wheel Removal & Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to Measuring Wheel Alignment in Wheel Alignment.
