Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT: A new wiper motor will be shipped in the parked position.
  1. Position the crank arm (5) to the wiper motor pivot shaft. Ensure the arm resides between the 2 casting dimples (2) as shown.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Install the crank arm pivot nut (4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the pivot nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Using the J 39529  , secure the transmission link (1) to the wiper crank arm (5). See Special Tools .

  6. Position the module assembly to the lower plenum. Refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement .

  8. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the wiper motor (1).
  9. Reposition the wiper arms.
  10. Inspect the front wiper system operation.
