Removal Procedure

Remove the center console. Refer to (Center Console Removal) in Interior Trim.
Remove the shift knob. Refer to Shift Control Knob Replacement .
Remove the illumination lamp from the shift indicator.
Depress the retaining tabs holding that retain the shift indicator, using a screwdriver or other appropriate tool.

Raise the shift indicator off of the shift control base.
