Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Install the brake pedal position sensor and the bolt to the brake pedal bracket.
Tighten: Tighten the bolt to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
- Install the electrical connector to the position sensor.
- Install the steering wheel stub shaft to the steering column. Refer to Intermediate Steering Shaft Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
- Install the closeout panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
- Calibrate the position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration .
IMPORTANT:
Do not reuse the position sensor bolt. Always use a new bolt when installing a brake pedal position sensor.
