Installation Procedure

CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

  1. Install the battery (3) to the vehicle.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the battery hold down retainer (2) and bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  3. Position the positive battery cable to the battery.
  4. Install the positive battery cable (3) to the battery.
  5. Tighten the positive battery cable nut (2).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Close the positive battery cable cover (1).
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LAT)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (LZ4/LY7) .
