Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2005 Saturn Ion Red Line, 2005 Saturn Ion 3, 2005 Saturn Ion 2, and 2005 Saturn Ion 1. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the HVAC control assembly.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the HVAC control screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  4. IMPORTANT: Do not bend the mode and temperature cables.
  5. Connect the mode and temperature cables to the HVAC control assembly.

  7. Connect the HVAC control assembly electrical connectors.

  9. Place the radio in the vehicle and connect the radio electrical connectors.

  11. Push the radio into position.
  12. Install the radio screws.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).

  14. Connect the accessory trim plate electrical connector(s).

  16. Align the retaining fasteners with the I/P.

  18. Push on the outer edge of the accessory trim plate in order to secure the retaining fasteners.
