Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air tube from the camshaft cover fitting.
  3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the mass airflow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.

  4. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamp (1) at the throttle body.
  5. Loosen the 6 air cleaner housing cover screws (2).
  6. Separate the air cleaner outlet duct from the throttle body.
  7. Remove the air cleaner housing cover (3) (with outlet duct).
  8. Remove and discard the air cleaner element (4).
