Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Cadillac DTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect both suspension position sensors.
- Test for less than 2.0 ohms between suspension position sensor low reference terminal 3 (LR) and terminal 1 (RR) and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open or high resistance. If all circuits test normal, replace the air suspension control module.
- Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the sensor 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1 (LR) and terminal 3 (RR) of the harness connectors and ground.
- If less that the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for open/high resistance or a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the air suspension control module.
- If greater that the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the air suspension control module.
- Ignition OFF, reconnect the LR suspension position sensor.
- Ignition ON, test for 4.75-5.25 volts exists between the RR position sensor 5-volt reference circuit terminal 3 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test or replace the LR suspension position sensor.
- Test or replace RR suspension position sensor that is not connected.
