Component Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector of the CPP sensor.
- Measure for 1,160-1,175 ohms between the 5-volt reference terminal C and the low reference terminal A of the CPP sensor.
- If the resistance is not within the specified range, replace the CPP sensor.
- Measure the resistance between the signal terminal B and the low reference terminal A of the CPP sensor. Sweep the CPP sensor through the entire range. The resistance should vary low to high and high to low without any spikes or dropouts.
- If the resistance is erratic with spikes or dropouts, replace the CPP sensor.
- Apply 5 volts and ground to the applicable terminals of the CPP sensor, and measure the voltage between the signal terminal B and the low reference terminal A. Sweep the CPP sensor through the entire range. The voltage should vary between 4.3-0.6 volts without any spikes or dropouts.
- If the voltage is not within the specified range or is erratic, replace the CPP sensor.
