Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.
  1. Remove the generator battery control module cover. Refer to Generator Control Module Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With LAT)  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without LAT) .

  3. Remove the ECM bracket bolts (2), nuts (1) and ECM bracket.
  4. Set the ECM assembly aside.

  5. Loosen the positive battery cable terminal nut (1) and secure the battery positive cable (2) out of the way.

  6. Remove the battery hold down nuts (1) and the battery hold down retainer bracket (2).
  7. Remove the battery from the vehicle.
