Section 752 (Air Conditioning System): Refrigerant: Replacement

  1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 
    1. Turn the A/C switch on.
    2. Operating the cooler compressor at the engine RPM of approx. 1,000 for 5 to 6 minutes, circulate the refrigerant and collect compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor as much as possible.
    3. Stop the engine.
    4. Release the refrigerant gas.

  2. CHARGE REFRIGERANT 
    1. Using a vacuum pump, purge refrigeration system.
    2. Charge refrigerant, HFC-134a (R134a).

      Standard: 380 +/- 30 g (13.9 +/- 1.1 oz.)

  3. WARM UP ENGINE 
  4. INSPECT LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT 
    1. Using a gas leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.
