Section 939 (Lighting System): Inspection

  1. HEADLAMP DIMMER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the light control switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        OFF 10 - 11 - 12 - 13 10 kΩ or higher
        TAIL 10 - 13 Below 1Ω
        HEAD 10 - 13 Below 1Ω
        HEAD 11.- 12 Below 1Ω

        Replace the switch as necessary.

    2. Inspect the headlight dimmer switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        HEAD LIGHT DIMMER SWITCH STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        FLASH 9-11 Below 1Ω
        LOW BEAM 8 - 10 Below 1Ω
        HI BEAM 9 - 11 Below 1Ω

        HINT:

        Turn the headlamp dimmer switch to the HEAD position when checking "LOW BEAM" and "HI BEAM".

        Replace the switch as necessary.

    3. Inspect the turn signal switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        TURN SIGNAL STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        Right turn 6 - 7 Below 1Ω
        Neutral 5 - 6 - 7 10 kΩ or higher
        Left turn 5 - 6 Below 1Ω

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  2. BACK UP LAMP SWITCH ASSY (M/T TRANSAXLE) 
    1. Inspect the back up lamp switch assy continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        BACK UP STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        ON 1 - 2 Below 1Ω
        OFF 1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  3. PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSY (A/T TRANSAXLE) 
    1. Inspect the park/neutral position switch assy continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        PARK NEUTRAL POSITION STANDARD

        Lever operation Tester connection Specified condition
        P position 1 - 3 Below 1Ω
        R position 2 - 3 Below 1Ω
        N position 3 - 5 Below 1Ω
        D position 3 - 7 Below 1Ω
        2 position 3 - 4 Below 1Ω
        L position 3 - 8 Below 1Ω

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  4. STOP LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the stop lamp switch assy continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        STOP LAMP SWITCH STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        Switch pin pushed in (Pedal released) 1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher
        Switch pin free (Pedal depressed) 1 - 2 Below 1Ω

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  5. CENTER CLUSTER MODULE SWITCH 
    1. Inspect the hazard warning signal switch continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        CENTER CLUSTER MODULE SWITCH STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        ON 1 - 2 Below 1Ω
        OFF 1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher

        Replace the switch as necessary.

        If the value is not as specified, replace the integration control & panel assy.

  6. FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the front door courtesy lamp switch assy continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        ON 1 - Body ground Below 1Ω.
        OFF 1 - Body ground 10k Ω or higher

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  7. REAR DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the rear door courtesy lamp switch assy continuity.
      1. Check the rear door courtesy lamp switch assy using the same procedures as for the front door courtesy lamp switch assy.

        Standard: 

        Same as front. 

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  8. BACK DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Inspect the back door courtesy lamp switch assy continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        BACK DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY STANDARD

        Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
        ON (UNLOCK) 1 - 2 Below 1Ω
        OFF (LOCK) 1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher

        Replace the switch as necessary.

  9. ROOM LAMP ASSY NO.1 
    1. Inspect the room lamp assy No.1 continuity.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard: 

      ROOM LAMP ASSY NO.1 STANDARD

      Switch operation Tester connection Specified condition
      ON 1 - 2 Below 1Ω
      DOOR 1 - 2 Below 1Ω
      OFF 1 - 2 10 kΩ or higher

      Replace the lamp as necessary.

  10. HEADLAMP RELAY 
    1. Inspect the head lamp relay continuity.
      1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard: 

        HEADLAMP RELAY STANDARD

        Tester connection Specified condition
        3 - 5 10 kΩ or higher
        3 - 5 Below 1Ω (When battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)

        Replace the relay as necessary.
