Transmission Control Cable ASSY (ATM): Replacement

REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR ASSY (SEE OVERHAUL )
REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSY (SEE REMOVAL & INSTALLATION AND DISASSEMBLY & REASSEMBLY )
REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
1. Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.
2. Disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.

3. Remove the clip and disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

4. Disconnect the control cable from the control cable clamp.

REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the shift cable grommet retainer No.2.

2. Disconnect the floor shift cable from the transmission floor shift assy.
3. Pull out the control cable from the body.
4. Remove the shift cable grommet retainer No.2.

INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
1. Put in the control cable to the body.
2. Install the shift cable grommet retainer No.2 to the floor shift cable.
3. Install the floor shift cable as shown in Fig 6 .
  HINT:
  
  Securely engage the claws.

4. Install the shift cable grommet retainer No.2 with the 2 bolts.
  1. Torque: 5.0 N.m (50 kgf.cm, 43 in.lbf)

CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSY
1. Connect the control cable to the control cable clamp.

2. Connect the control cable with the clip to the bracket.

3. Temporarily install the control cable to the control shaft lever with the nut.
