Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT ALL DOORS LOCK/UNLOCK OPERATION 
    1. All doors can be locked/unlocked at once using the following:
      • Door control switch on the master switch (switch operation)
      • Door control switch on the front passenger side (switch operation)
      • Door key cylinder linked with door lock on the driver side (key operation)
      • Door key cylinder linked with door lock on the front passenger side (key operation)
    2. Proceed to the next step according to the symptom if all the doors cannot be locked/unlocked at once.

  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Remove the master switch.
    2. Check the resistance of the door control switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION, SWITCH CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 5, 3 - 5 Lock Below 1 Ω
      1 - 5, 3 - 5
      1 -8, 3 -8
      OFF 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 8, 3 - 8 Unlock Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR / MASTER SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSY - DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D10 switch and D3 relay connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D10-5 - D3-7 (L1) Below 1 Ω
      D10-8 - D3-8 (UL1)
      D10-3 - Body ground

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY 
  4. INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Remove the door control switch.
    2. Check the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION, SWITCH CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      3 - 6 Lock Below 1 Ω
      3 - 5 Unlock

    1. NG : REPLACE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR CONTROL SWITCH - DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D11 switch and D3 relay connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D11-5 - D3-8 (UL1) Below 1 Ω
      D11-6 - D3-7 (L1)
      D11-3 - Body ground

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY 
  6. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH (DOOR LOCK MOTOR) 
    1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock and check operation of the door lock motor.

      Standard: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 4
      Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1
      Lock
      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 4
      Unlock

  7. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH (DOOR LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH AND POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. Check the resistance of the door lock and unlock switch and position switch.

      Standard: Door lock and unlock switch 

      TESTER CONNECTION, DOOR LOCK CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      7 - 9 Lock Below 1 Ω
      7 - 9, 7 - 10 OFF 10 kΩ or higher

    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  8. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR W/ MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH - DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D8 door lock and D3 relay connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      D8-1 - D3-12 (ACTD) Below 1 Ω
      D8-4 - D3-1 (ACT+)
      D8-8 - D3-5 (LSWD)

    2. OK : REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY 
  9. INSPECT FRONT DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY RH (DOOR LOCK MOTOR) 
    1. Apply battery voltage to the door lock and check operation of the door lock motor.

      Standard: 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Battery positive (+) --> Terminal 4
      Battery negative (-) --> Terminal 1
      Lock

    1. Disconnect the D9 door lock and D3 relay connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      D9-1 - D3-13 (ACT-) Below 1 Ω
      D9-4 - D3-1 (ACT+)

  20. INSPECT DOOR CONTROL SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Remove the door control switch.
    2. Check the resistance of the switch.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION, SWITCH CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

  21. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR CONTROL SWITCH - DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D11 switch and D3 relay connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D11-5 - D3-8 (UL1) Below 1 Ω
      D11-6 - D3-7 (L1)
      D11-3 - Body ground

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY 
  22. INSPECT FUSE (D/L, GAUGE) 
    1. Remove the D/L and GAUGE fuses from the instrument panel J/B.
    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard: Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG : REPLACE FUSE 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  23. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR CONTROL RELAY ASSY - INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B ASSY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the D3 relay and 1L J/B connectors.
    2. Check the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      D3-3 (B) - 1L-10 Below 1 Ω
      D3-14 (IG) - 1L-3
      D3-25 (E) - Body ground
