Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK BUZZER 
    1. Check that the seat belt, key reminder and taillamp reminder warning buzzers sounds.

      Result: 

      BUZZER RESULTS TABLE

      Result Proceed to
      All warning buzzers do not sound A
      Seat belt warning buzzer does not sound B
      Key reminder warning buzzer does not sound C
      Taillamp reminder warning buzzer does not sound (Meter illumination is normal) D
    1. B : Go to step 2 
    2. C : Go to step   5 
    3. D : Go to step   9 
    4. A : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  INSTRUMENT PANEL/METER  ) 
  2. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Disconnect the B6 connector from the front seat inner belt assy LH.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B6-1 - B6-3 Seat belt is fastened 10 kΩ or higher
      B6-1 - B6-3 Seat belt is unfastened Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSY) 
    1. Disconnect the C11 and B6 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH - COMBINATION METER

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C11-6 - B6-3 Below 1 Ω
      C11-6 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER) 
    1. Disconnect the B6 and A9 connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY LH - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A9-2 - B6-1 (w/ Side Airbag) Below 1 Ω
      A9-7 - B6-1 (w/o Side Airbag) Below 1 Ω
      B6-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    1. NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  INSTRUMENT PANEL/METER  ) 
  5. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the C11 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal and body ground.

      Standard: 

      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C11-18 - Body ground No key in ignition key cylinder 10 kΩ or higher
      C11-18 - Body ground Key in ignition key cylinder Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : Go to step   7 
    2. OK : GO TO NEXT STEP. 
  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the C11 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal and body ground.

      Standard: 

      COMBINATION METER ASSY - BODY GROUND

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C11-25 - Body ground Driver side door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      C11-25 - Body ground Driver side door is open Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : Go to step   8 
    2. OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  INSTRUMENT PANEL/METER  ) 
  7. INSPECT UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the U1 connector from the unlock warning switch assy.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard: 

      UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U1-1 - U1-2 No key in ignition key cylinder 10 kΩ or higher
      U1-1 - U1-2 Key in ignition key cylinder Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : REPLACE UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH CIRCUIT) 
  8. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the D4 connector from the front door courtesy lamp switch assy.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal and body ground.

      Standard: 

      FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D4-1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch is pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      D4-1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch is not pushed Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    2. OK : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT) 
  9. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the C11 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal and body ground.

      Standard: 

      COMBINATION METER ASSY

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C11-25 - Body ground Driver side door is closed 10 kΩ or higher
      C11-25 - Body ground Driver side door is open Below 1 Ω

    1. NG : Go to step 10 
    2. OK : REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  INSTRUMENT PANEL/METER  ) 
  10. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY 
    1. Disconnect the D4 connector from THE front door courtesy lamp switch assy.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminal and body ground.

      Standard: 

      FRONT DOOR COURTESY LAMP SWITCH ASSY

      Tester Connection Condition Specified condition
      D4-1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch shaft is pushed 10 kΩ or higher
      D4-1 - Body ground Driver side courtesy switch shaft is not pushed Below 1 Ω
