Inspection Procedure

  1. 1 INSPECT FUSE 
    1. Inspect the ALT fuse and MAIN fuse in the FL block.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    2. Inspect the DOME fuse and AM2 fuse in the engine room R/B.

      Standard: 

      Below 1 Ω 

    3. Inspect the GAUGE fuse and AM1 fuse in the instrument panel junction block assy.

    Standard: 

    Below 1 Ω 

    1. NG INSPECT FOR SHORT CIRCUIT IN HARNESS AND ALL COMPONENTS CONNECTED TO FUSE 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. 2 INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY(GROUND CIRCUIT)

    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    C6-21 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    1. NG REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. 3 INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY

    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    C6-1 - C6-21 Always 10 to 14 V
    1. NG REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - COMBINATION METER ASSY) (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  4. 4 INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY

    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    C6-21 - C6-23 Ignition switch OFF --> ON Below 1 V --> 10 to 14 V
    C6-21 - C6-40 Ignition switch OFF --> ON Below 1 V --> 10 to 14 V
    1. NG Go to step 5 
    2. OK: REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
  5. 5 INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH

    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    I10-1 - I10-2 Ignition switch OFF --> ON 10 kΩ or higher --> Below 1 Ω
    I10-5 - I10-6 Ignition switch OFF --> ON 10 kΩ or higher --> Below 1 Ω
    1. NG REPLACE IGNITION SWITCH 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  6. 6 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

    1. Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    IGNITION SWITCH CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    I10-1 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
    I10-5 - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V
    1. NG REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (IGNITION SWITCH - BATTERY) (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSY - IGNITION SWITCH) (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  )
