Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester, and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.

  1. 1 READ VALUE OF HAND-HELD TESTER 
    1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and press the hand-held tester main switch on.
    3. Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the hand-held tester.

    1. NG GO TO FLOW CHART OR PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (ABS WITH EBD & BA TRAC & VSC SYSTEM) (See  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING  . 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  2. 2 CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR(SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER ASSY)

    1. Disconnect the combination meter connector and skid control ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    SKID CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR AND COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR TERMINALS RESISTANCE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    C6-28 - S3-12 (SP1) Always Below 1 Ω
    C6-28 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    1. NG REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (SEE  ELECTRONIC CIRCUIT INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ) 
    2. OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 
  3. 3 INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY

    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard: 

    COMBINATION METER CONNECTOR TERMINALS VOLTAGE

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    C6-28 - Body ground Ignition switch OFF --> ON Below 1 V --> 10 to 14 V
    1. NG REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSY (See  COMBINATION METER ASSY  ) 
    2. OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE  REPLACEMENT  )
