Rear Seat Belt: Replacement

HINT:

  1. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  2. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD NO. 1 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  4. REMOVE DECK BOARD NO. 2 (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  6. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  7. REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  8. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  9. REMOVE DECK TRIM COVER REAR (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  10. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSY RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  11. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  12. REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY OUTER 
    1. Remove the bolt and seat belt on the shoulder anchor side.
    2. Remove the bolt on the retractor side, and completely remove the seat belt.
  13. REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER 
    1. Remove the seatback board (See REPLACEMENT ).
    2. Remove the shoulder belt cover (See REPLACEMENT ).
    3. Remove the bolt and belt on the floor anchor side.
    4. Remove the bolt and nut on the retractor side, and completely remove the belt.
  14. REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and inner belt.
  15. REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and inner belt.
  16. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and anchor bracket.
  17. INSTALL CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSY RH 
    1. Install the anchor bracket with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

  18. INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY LH 
    1. Install the floor anchor and belt with the bolt as shown in Fig 1.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE: Make sure that the anchor part does not run onto the protruding part of the floor panel.

  19. INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY RH 
    1. Install the floor anchor and belt with the bolt as shown in Fig 2.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE: Make sure that the anchor part does not run onto the protruding part of the floor panel.

  20. INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER 
    1. Install the belt on the retractor side with the nut.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    2. Install the shoulder belt cover (See REPLACEMENT ).
    3. Install the seatback board center (See REPLACEMENT ).
    4. Before installing the ELR, check the ELR.
      1. Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but locks with over 45° of tilt when gently moving the retractor.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

    5. Install the belt with the bolt.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    6. After installing the ELR, check the ELR.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

      HINT:

      The seat belt does not lock when it is pulled out to a length of 955 mm (37.60 in.) or less.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

    8. Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
      2. After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

  21. INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY OUTER 
    1. Install the belt with the bolt on the retractor side.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

    2. Before installing the ELR, check the ELR.
      1. Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but locks with over 45° of tilt when gently moving the retractor. If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
    3. Install the belt with the bolt on the floor anchor side.

      Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE: Make sure that the anchor part does not run onto the protruding part of the floor panel.
      1. Check that the belt locks by pulling it out quickly after installation.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assy.

    4. After installing the ELR, check the ELR.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.

    5. Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.
      NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
      1. When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
      2. After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
