Rear Seat Belt: Replacement
HINT:
- The installation procedures are the removal procedures in the reverse order. However, only installation procedures requiring additional information are included.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE DECK BOARD NO. 1 (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE DECK BOARD NO. 2 (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX LH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE DECK TRIM COVER REAR (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSY RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH (See REPLACEMENT )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY OUTER
- Remove the bolt and seat belt on the shoulder anchor side.
- Remove the bolt on the retractor side, and completely remove the seat belt.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER
- Remove the seatback board (See REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the shoulder belt cover (See REPLACEMENT ).
- Remove the bolt and belt on the floor anchor side.
- Remove the bolt and nut on the retractor side, and completely remove the belt.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY RH
- Remove the bolt and inner belt.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY LH
- Remove the bolt and inner belt.
- REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSY RH
- Remove the 4 bolts and anchor bracket.
- INSTALL CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET SUB-ASSY RH
- Install the anchor bracket with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- Install the anchor bracket with the 4 bolts.
- INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY LH
- Install the floor anchor and belt with the bolt as shown in Fig 1.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Make sure that the anchor part does not run onto the protruding part of the floor panel.
- Install the floor anchor and belt with the bolt as shown in Fig 1.
- INSTALL REAR SEAT INNER W/CENTER BELT ASSY RH
- Install the floor anchor and belt with the bolt as shown in Fig 2.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
NOTE: Make sure that the anchor part does not run onto the protruding part of the floor panel.
- Install the floor anchor and belt with the bolt as shown in Fig 2.
- INSTALL REAR SEAT BELT ASSY OUTER CENTER
- Install the belt on the retractor side with the nut.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- Install the shoulder belt cover (See REPLACEMENT ).
- Install the seatback board center (See REPLACEMENT ).
- Before installing the ELR, check the ELR.
- Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but locks with over 45° of tilt when gently moving the retractor.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
- Install the belt with the bolt.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- After installing the ELR, check the ELR.NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
- With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
HINT:
The seat belt does not lock when it is pulled out to a length of 955 mm (37.60 in.) or less.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
- Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
- When the belt is pulled out fully, the belt should automatically try to retract.
- After the belt has fully retracted, the belt should be able to be pulled out and retracted again.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
- Install the belt on the retractor side with the nut.
- INSTALL REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE BELT ASSY OUTER
- Install the belt with the bolt on the retractor side.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- Before installing the ELR, check the ELR.
- Check that the belt does not lock within 15° of tilt in all directions but locks with over 45° of tilt when gently moving the retractor. If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
- Install the belt with the bolt on the floor anchor side.
Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

If operation is not as specified, replace the seat belt assy.
- After installing the ELR, check the ELR.NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.
- With the belt installed, check that the belt locks when it is pulled out quickly.
If operation is not as specified, replace the belt assy.
- Check the fastening function of the child restraint system.NOTE: The check should be performed with the assembly installed.

- INSTALL REAR SEAT ASSY (See REPLACEMENT )
