Skid Control Sensor: Installation

HINT:

  1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR 
    1. Wipe off sealant attached to the skid control sensor's fitting surface with white gasoline.
      NOTE: Prevent foreign matter from attaching to the sensor rotor.
    2. Install a new skid control sensor to the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. The skid control sensor connector should be placed in the lowest position.

      HINT:

      The rear axle hub and bearing assembly should be placed with the narrow side facing the lower side.

    3. Using SST and a press, press the skid control sensor so that it becomes flat with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

      SST 09214-76011 

      NOTE:
      • Do not use a hammer on the skid control sensor.
      • Check that there is no foreign matter such as iron chips on the sensor's detection portion.
      • Slowly press the skid control sensor in straight.

  2. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  3. INSTALL REAR DISC (See  BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER  ) 
  4. INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING WITH REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  5. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (See  REPLACEMENT  ) 
  6. INSTALL REAR WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf) 

  7. CHECK AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT 
    1. Check and adjust the rear wheel alignment (See REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT ).
  8. CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL BATTERY 
  9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
  10. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL 
    1. Check the ABS speed sensor signal (See DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM  ).
