Transmission Control Cable: Installation

  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the control cable with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in. lbf)

    2. Install the clamp to the control cable.
    3. Install the clamp to the body with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in. lbf)

    4. Connect the control cable to the control cable bracket, and install 2 new clips.
    5. Connect the control cable to the transaxle, and install the 2 washers and 2 clips.

  2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the ends of the control cable and install the 2 clips to the shift lever.
    2. Turn the lock nuts of the shift cable 270°counterclockwise, and hold them in that position.
    3. Install the shift cable while holding them.
    4. Check that the cable are installed securely.

    5. Push in the cable locks of the shift cable and select cable.
  3. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in. lbf) 
  4. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  5. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY 
  6. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  )

  7. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  8. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  9. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL UPPER (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  10. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    1. Perform initialization (See INITIALIZATION ).
  13. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the SRS warning light (See TERMINALS OF ECU ).
