Vehicle Stability Control System: Calibration
- PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE SENSOR AND DECELERATION SENSOR (When not Using Intelligent Tester)
HINT:
After replacing the yaw rate sensor and/or the skid control ECU with actuator, make sure to perform the yaw rate sensor and deceleration sensor zero point calibration.
NOTE:- While performing the calibration, do not tilt, move or shake the vehicle. Keep it in a stationary condition. Do not start the engine.
- Be sure to perform the calibration on a level surface that has an inclination of less than 1 degree.
- Move the shift lever to P.
- Clear the zero point calibration using the SST check wire.
SST 09843-18040
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Using SST, connect and disconnect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3 4 times or more within 8 seconds.
- Check that the warning light indicates the normal code.
- Remove the SST from the terminals of the DLC3.
- Procedure for test mode:
- Turn the ignition switch OFF.
- Apply the parking brake (the parking brake switch is turned ON).
- Using SST, connect and disconnect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
SST 09843-18040
- Check that the steering wheel is in the center position and move the shift lever to P.
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Keep the vehicle in a stationary condition on a level surface for 2 seconds or more.
- Check that the VSC warning light blinks.
HINT:
If the VSC warning light does not blink, perform the zero point calibration again.

- Obtain zero point of the yaw rate sensor and deceleration sensor:
- Keep the vehicle in a stationary condition on a level surface for 2 seconds or more.
- Check that the VSC warning light blinks.
