Skid Control Sensor Components: Removal
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE REAR WHEEL
- DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING WITH REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
- REMOVE REAR DISC (See REMOVAL DISASSEMBLY )
- REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE SKID CONTROL SENSOR
- Install the 4 hub nuts to the 4 rear axle hub bolts.
- Placing an aluminum plate below the rear axle hub and bearing assembly, place them into a vise.NOTE: Replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly if it is dropped or receives a strong shock.
- Using a 3 mm pin punch and hammer, remove the 2 pins from the SST (09520-00031) and disconnect the attachment (09521-00010).
- Using SST and 2 bolts, remove the skid control sensor from the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

NOTE:- Pull the skid control sensor off straight, be careful not to make contact with the skid control sensor rotor.
- If the sensor rotor is damaged or deformed, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- Do not scratch the area where the skid control sensor contacts the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- Do not attach the foreign matter to the sensor rotor.
