Test Mode Procedure

  1. ABS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. The ABS warning light operates as listed below.
      1. It comes ON when the ignition switch is ON.
      2. After that, it goes OFF in 3 seconds.
  2. BRAKE WARNING LIGHT 
    1. The BRAKE warning light operates as listed below.
      1. It comes ON when the ignition switch is ON and the parking brake is set.
      2. It comes ON when the ignition switch is ON and the brake fluid level of the reservoir tank is lower than the low level.
      3. It goes OFF when the parking brake is not set.

  3. TEST MODE FOR VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL (WITH INTELLIGENT TESTER) 

    HINT:

    The manufacturer uses the test mode to check the vehicle speed sensor operation.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
    2. Allow the engine to idle.
    3. Select the tester menus: DIAGNOSTIC, OBD/ MOBD, ABSA/SC and SIGNAL CHECK. The ABS warning light will blink.

    4. Drive the vehicle straightforward at 55 km/h (34 mph) or higher for several seconds. Then, do not turn the steering wheel and do not spin the wheels. The ABS warning light will go OFF when the signal check is complete.
    5. Stop the vehicle and do not turn the ignition switch OFF.
    6. Check the DTCs.

      If DTCs are set, perform the inspection procedure depends on DTCs.

      HINT:

      *: These DTCs are set while the signal check mode only.

  4. TEST MODE FOR VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL (WITHOUT INTELLIGENT TESTER) 

    HINT:

    The manufacturer uses the test mode to check the vehicle speed sensor operation.

    1. Allow the engine to idle.

    2. Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3. The ABS warning light will blink.

      SST 09843-18040 

    3. Drive the vehicle straightforward at 55 km/h (34 mph) or higher for several seconds. Then, do not turn the steering wheel and do not spin the wheels. The ABS warning light will go OFF when the signal check is complete.
    4. Stop the vehicle and do not turn the ignition switch OFF.

    5. Using SST, connect terminals 12 (TS) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

    6. Count the number of the ABS warning light blinks to check DTCs.

      If DTCs are set, perform the inspection procedure depending on DTCs.
