Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM (BACK DOOR OPEN) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
      1. Main Body: 
        ACTIVE TEST DETAIL - MAIN BODY

        Tester Display Test Part Control Range
        Trunk and Back - Door Open Operate back door open OFF or ON

        OK: 

        Back door lock is opened. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  2. INSPECT BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the back door lock (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the door lock motor.

      OK 

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 1 (ACT-)
      Battery negative (-) → 2 (ACT+)
      Unlock
    3. Reinstall the back door lock (see INSTALLATION  ).

    NG : REPLACE BACK DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BACK DOOR LOCK MOTOR - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L3 back door lock connector.
    2. Disconnect the C45 main body ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L3-2 (ACT+) - C45-1 (TR+) Always Below 1 Ω
      L3-1 (ACT-) - Body ground
      L3-2 (ACT+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the back door lock connector.
    5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
