Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER OR TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the "Data List".
      1. Main Body 
        DATA LIST - MAIN BODY

        Tester Display Measurement item/Range Normal Condition
        Door Key SW-Lock Driver door lock/unlock switch lock signal (Key-linked lock switch) / ON or OFF ON Driver side door key cylinder is turned to lock position
        OFF Driver side door key cylinder is not turned
        Door Key SW-Unlock Driver door lock/unlock switch unlock signal (Key-linked unlock switch) /ON or OFF ON Driver side door key cylinder is turned to unlock position
        OFF Driver side door key cylinder is not turned
        D Door Key SW-UL Driver door lock/unlock switch unlock signal (2 step key-linked unlock switch) /ON or OFF ON Driver side door key cylinder is turned to unlock position
        OFF Driver side door key cylinder is not turned

        OK: 

        The display is as specified in the normal condition column. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE   . )

  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH (DOOR KEY LOCK AND UNLOCK SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the front door lock LH (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      7 (E) - 9 (L) ON (Door lock set to LOCK) Below 1 Ω
      7 (E) - 9 (L) 7 (E) - 10 (UL) OFF (Free) 10 kΩ or higher
      7 (E) - 10 (UL) ON (Door lock set to UNLOCK) Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the front door lock LH (see INSTALLATION  ).

    NG : REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR LOCK MOTOR LH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the E6 front door lock LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the C45 and 2H main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) connectors.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E6-9 (L) - 2H-7 (L2) Always Below 1 Ω
      E6-10 (UL) - C45-14 (UL3)
      E6-7 (E) - Body ground
      E6-9 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E6-10 (UL) - Body ground
    4. Reconnect the front door lock LH connector.
    5. Reconnect the main body ECU (instrument panel junction block) connectors

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
