Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the "Data List".
      1. Main Body 
        DATA LIST - MAIN BODY

        Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
        RL-Door Lock Pos SW Rear door unlock detection switch LH signal / ON or OFF ON Rear left door is unlocked
        OFF Rear left door is locked
        RR-Door Lock Pos SW Rear door unlock detection switch RH signal / ON or OFF ON Rear right door is unlocked
        OFF Rear right door is locked

        OK: 

        The display is as specified in the normal condition column. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  . 

  2. INSPECT REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (UNLOCK DETECTION SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the rear door lock (see REMOVAL  ).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (LH side and RH side) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      6 (LSSR) - 9 (E) LOCK 10 kΩ or higher
      UNLOCK Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the rear door lock (see INSTALLATION  ).

    NG : REPLACE REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the G4 (LH side) or F4 (RH side) door lock connector.
    2. Disconnect the C45 main body ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance (LH side) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G4-6 (LSSR) - C45-24 (LSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      G4-6 (LSSR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G4-9 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard resistance (RH side) 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F4-6 (LSSR) - C45-24 (LSR) Always Below 1 Ω
      F4-6 (LSSR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F4-9 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the rear door lock connector.
    5. Reconnect the main body ECU connector.

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK : REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
