Front Stabilizer Bar: Installation

  1. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BAR BUSH (for LH Side) 
    1. Install the No. 1 front stabilizer bar bush onto the front stabilizer bar as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:
      • Install the No. 1 front stabilizer bar bush so that the dust lips face outward of the vehicle.
      • Install the No. 1 front stabilizer bar bush so that the cutouts face rearward of the vehicle.
  2. REMOVE NO. 1 FRONT STABILIZER BAR BUSH (for RH Side) 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  3. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER BAR 
    1. Install the front stabilizer bar onto the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly so that the identification mark is positioned on the right side of the vehicle.

  4. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT RACE LH 
    1. Install the front suspension member front brace LH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 87 N.m (887 kgf.cm, 64 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Temporarily tighten bolt A, and then fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of B, C, D, and A.
      • After installing the front suspension member front brace LH, make sure that the protrusion of the No. 1 front stabilizer bar bushing comes out.

  5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER FRONT RACE RH 
    1. Install the front suspension member front brace RH with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 87 N.m (887 kgf.cm, 64 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Temporarily tighten bolt A, and then fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order of B, C, D, and A.
      • After installing the front suspension member front brace RH, make sure that the protrusion of the No. 1 front stabilizer bar bushing comes out.

  6. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL  )
  7. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION CROSSMEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION  )
  8. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  9. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE REAR RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  10. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  11. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  12. CONNECT FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  13. CONNECT FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  14. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION )
  15. CONNECT TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  17. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH 

    HINT:

    Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. CONNECT NO. 1 STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  19. CONNECT NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  20. INSTALL COLUMN HOLE COVER SILENCER SHEET  (See INSTALLATION )
  21. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR RH 
  22. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR LH 
  23. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  24. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER 
  25. INSTALL FRONT WHEELS 
  26. STABILIZE SUSPENSION  (See INSTALLATION  )
  27. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH  (See INSTALLATION  )
  28. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    (See ADJUSTMENT  )
