Upper Instrument Panel: Installation

1. Install a new instrument panel cushion as shown in the illustration.

1. Install a new instrument panel cushion as shown in the illustration.

   HINT:

   If there is excess on the edge of the instrument panel cushion, then wrap the excess cushion under the back of the instrument panel before installation.

1. Engage the 3 claws and install the instrument panel register.

   HINT:

   Use the same procedure for both sides.

1. Install the heater to register duct with the 2 < A > screws.

1. Engage the 4 claws and 2 clips.

2. Install the instrument panel box door with the 2 < B > screws.

1. Install the cup holder with the 3 < A > screws.

1. Engage the 5 claws at the front of the instrument panel.
   NOTE: If the No. 4 instrument panel cushion is peeling off or torn, then replace it with a new part.

2. Engage the 4 clips and 4 claws at the rear of the upper instrument panel.

3. Install the upper instrument panel with the 2 < B > screws and 2 < C > bolts.

   Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) for bolt < C > 

4. Connect the airbag connector and clamp.

1. Engage the 2 hinges horizontally to install the glove compartment door.
   NOTE: Engage the 2 hinges horizontally. Otherwise, the hinge may be damaged, making re-installation impossible.

2. While pushing in the sides of the glove compartment door as indicated by the arrows in the illustration, close the door to engage it to the 2 stoppers.

3. Install the glove compartment door stoppers onto the glove compartment door.

1. Engage the 6 claws and install the instrument cluster finish panel retainer.

1. Engage the 7 clips and 2 claws and install the instrument cluster finish center panel.

1. Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.

1. Install the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
