Inspection Procedure
- INSPECT ECM
- Disconnect the C19 ECM connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage
STANDARD VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONSTester Connection Condition Specified Condition C19-56 (D) - Body ground Clutch pedal depressed Below 1 V Clutch pedal released 11 to 14 V
NG: Go to step 2
OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )
- INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the A16 clutch switch connector.
- Remove the clutch switch, (see REMOVAL )
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSTester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 Switch pin free (Clutch pedal depressed) 10 kΩ or higher Switch pin pushed in (Clutch pedal released) Below 1 Ω - Install the clutch switch.
- Reconnect the clutch switch connector.
NG: REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH SWITCH)
- Disconnect the C19 ECM connector.
- Disconnect the A16 clutch switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance
STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONSTester Connection Condition Specified Condition C19-56 (D) - A16-2 Always Below 1 Ω C19-56 (D) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher - Reconnect the ECM connector.
- Reconnect the clutch switch connector.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - CLUTCH SWITCH)
