Brake Actuator: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the actuator bracket with the 4 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m ( 55 kgf*cm, 48 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • Do not remove the hole plug before connecting the brake tube. New actuators are filled with brake fluid.
      • Do not carry with the connector part of an actuator.
  2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

    1. Install the brake actuator with bracket with the 3 nuts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 19 N*m ( 194 kgf*cm, 14 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

    2. Engage the 2 tube clamps to the actuator bracket.
    3. Temporarily install each brake tube in the correct positions of the brake actuator as shown in the illustration.

      HINT: 

      • *1: To front wheel cylinder RH
      • *2: To front wheel cylinder LH
      • *3: To rear wheel cylinder RH
      • *4: To rear wheel cylinder LH
      • *5: From 1st master cylinder
      • *6: From 2nd master cylinder
    4. Using a union nut wrench, install the 6 brake tubes onto the brake actuator.

      without union nut wrench 

      Torque: 15 N*m ( 155 kgf*cm, 11 in.*lbf) 

      with union nut wrench 

      Torque: 14 N*m ( 143 kgf*cm, 10 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • This torque value can be obtained by using a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.8 in.) and a union nut wrench with a fulcrum length of 22 mm (0.886 in.) . Refer to PRECAUTION .
      • This torque value is effective when the union nut wrench is parallel to a torque wrench.
    5. Connect the brake actuator connector.

      NOTE:
      • Make sure that the connector is locked securely.
      • Make sure that the actuator connector can be connected smoothly. Do not allow entry of water, oil or dirt.
  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  4. INSTALL OUTER COWL TOP PANEL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  5. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  6. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 3
  7. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
  8. INSTALL HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
  9. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  10. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
  11. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m ( 55 kgf*cm, 48 ft.*lbf) 

  13. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 1
  14. BLEED MASTER CYLINDER  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 2
  15. BLEED BRAKE LINE  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 3
  16. BLEED BRAKE ACTUATOR  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  17. CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 5
  18. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK 
  19. CHECK ACTUATOR WITH TECHSTREAM 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION 

  20. PERFORM YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION 

    Refer to CALIBRATION

  21. CHECK AND CLEAR DTC 

    Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR
