DTC P1586: Acceleration Sensor Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) See step   1 

    B → See step   6 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P1586) 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Perform a road test where the vehicle is driven at 30 km/ h (18 mph) or more, the brakes are applied at least 16 times and the vehicle is finally stopped.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Current or Pending.
    7. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Only P1586 is output A
      P1586 and other DTCs are output B

      HINT: 

      If any other codes besides DTC P1586 are output, perform troubleshooting for those DTCs first.

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (G SENSOR) See step   2

  4. REPLACE YAW RATE AND ACCELERATION SENSOR See step   3

  6. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  8. REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
