Intake Manifold: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE ACTUATOR (for TCV)  See step  1
  2. INSTALL PURGE LINE HOSE 
    1. Install the purge line hose to the intake manifold.
    2. Connect the purge line hose to the clamp.
  3. INSTALL CHECK VALVE 
    1. Install the 2 vacuum hoses to the check valve.
    2. Connect the 2 vacuum hoses to the intake manifold to install the check valve.

    3. Check that the check valve is installed as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD

      NOTE:

      The valves may be damaged if they are not closed before installing the intake manifold.

    1. Close the tumble control valves.
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Condition: Closed

      HINT: 

      Connect the battery to the terminals of the actuator and operate the motor to close the valves. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 3 .

    2. Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.

    3. Install the intake manifold with the 6 bolts and tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 21 N*m (214 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

  5. CONNECT NO. 2 PCV HOSE 
    1. Connect the No. 2 PCV hose to the intake manifold.
  6. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS 
    1. Attach the clamp and connect the wire harness.
    2. Install the bracket with the bolt.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the intake air control actuator connector.
    4. Install the wire harness clamp bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    5. Attach the 2 clamps.
    6. Connect the 2 hoses and connector and attach the clamp to the vacuum switching valve.
  7. CONNECT HEATER HOSE 
    1. Connect the outlet heater water hose to the heater radiator unit.
    2. Connect the inlet heater water hose to the heater radiator unit.
  8. INSTALL HOSE TO HOSE TUBE 
    1. Install the tube with the 2 nuts.

      Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 hoses.
  9. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  10. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
  11. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  12. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  13. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
