Shift Paddle Switch: Removal: Removal
NOTE:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing the steering column. Refer to PRECAUTION .
- ALIGN FRONT WHEELS TO FACE STRAIGHT AHEAD
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL WARNING:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- REMOVE STEERING PAD

- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL
- REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH LH . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 7
- REMOVE NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT . Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 3
- REMOVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Detach the 4 pins and disconnect the 2 shift paddle switches from the steering wheel assembly.
- Detach the 6 guides and remove the shift paddle switch with No. 1 switch wire from the steering wheel assembly.
- Remove the 2 cable ties.TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION
*1 Cable Tie - Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the 2 shift paddle switches from the No. 1 switch wire.
