DTC P0500: Vehicle Speed Sensor "A": Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Vehicle Speed.
5. Drive the vehicle.
6. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.

   OK

   Vehicle speeds displayed on Techstream and speedometer display are equal.

NG → See step   2 

OK → See step   5 

1. Inspect the circuits that send vehicle speed signals to this system in the meter system. Refer to Speed Signal Circuit .
2. During inspection for the meter section, if there is an instruction that indicates to go back to inspections for each system, proceed to the next step.

NEXT: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
2. Disconnect the combination meter connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   C50-32 (+S) - A35-15 (SPD)	Always	Below 1 Ω

NG → See step   4 

OK → See step   6 

1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
2. Disconnect the junction connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   C58-7 - A35-15 (SPD)	Always	Below 1 Ω

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ECM - JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (JUNCTION CONNECTOR IS DEFECTIVE)
