Function

The automatic heater is regulated mechanically for the most part. The heater/AC operating unit (N23) is the central operating unit for regulating the heater. The air distribution rotary switch makes it possible to adjust which air outlet nozzles the air is to be routed through into the vehicle interior. The intensity of air heating is adjusted via the temperature preselection slider switch.

The heater heat exchanger located in the air flow of the blower delivers the heat of the coolant to the air blowing by. The strength of the air flow is set on the blower switch (S98/1) on the heater/ AC operating unit. The SAM control unit (N10/10) reads in the blower switch and then energizes the blower motor (M2).
