Thermo Vacuum Valve I
- Remove the Thermo Vacuum Valve I from intake manifold. Connect hoses to the output ports for air cleaner and EGR valve (2 upper ports) and plug output port for distributor (1 lower port). See Figure
. Submerge valve in container of water.CAUTION: Do not allow water to enter valve.
- With water temperature below 86°F (30°C), blow air through valve. If air does not pass freely, replace valve. Heat water above 104°F (40°C). No air should pass. If air passes through valve, replace valve.
- Detach and reconnect hoses to output ports for distributor and EGR valve. Plug output port to the air cleaner. With water temperature at 68°F (20°C), blow air into unit to ensure valve is completely open. With water temperature at 50°F (10°C), ensure valve is completely closed.
