Selective 4WD Models
- Loosen adjustment lock nuts of differential lock cable. Remove clevis pin from differential lock lever. Move differential lock lever to the center differential "LOCK" position. See Fig 1
.
- Disconnect outer vacuum hose from vacuum actuator and connect vacuum pump to actuator. Apply 7.8-9.8 in. Hg to actuator to pull cable forward. Vacuum must keep actuator in applied position when adjusting cable. See Fig 2
.

- Align differential lock lever bore with hole at end of cable using turnbuckle. Install clevis pin and snap ring. Rotate turnbuckle 180 degrees in the compression direction and tighten the 2 lock nuts to 43 INCH lbs. (4.7 N.m). See Fig 3
.
- Check operation of transfer shifter rod when 7.8-9.8 in. hg is applied to both sides of vacuum actuator. Shifter rod should move smoothly from the differential "LOCK" position to the differential "UNLOCK" position and vice versa.
