Power Steering Pump: Reassembly
- Replace all "O" rings, seals and snap rings. Keep components clean and free of dust and oil. Grease oil seal and front body internal surfaces. Ensure front body is not damaged. Replace parts as necessary.

- On XT and XT6, use Installer (926770000
) to press seal into front body. Ensure seal is fully seated in bore. Using Guide (926830000
), install shaft in front body. Install snap ring.
- On Legacy and Loyale, install shaft using Installer (926770000
). Install snap ring. Apply light coat of lubricant to "O" rings. Place "O" rings in front body. Install spring and cam ring.
- On all models, install aligning pins. DO NOT hammer pins as damage can occur. Mount rotor onto shaft. Install vanes in rotor with rounded ends toward cam ring. Using Installer (9267900000
), press seal into front body. Pack "O" ring grooves on both sides of cam case with grease, and install "O" rings.
- Align fluid passage and bolt holes. Install cam case to front body. Position seal washer on front body. Aligning pins with rear body, install rear body. Tighten bolts in a diagonal pattern to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS TABLE

- Lightly lubricate pressure valve. Install spring and pressure valve. Ensure pressure valve moves smoothly. Apply light coating of grease to adapter "O" ring. Install adapter and "O" ring. Tighten adapter. Ensure shaft turns smoothly without excessive play. Install reservoir on pump. Install pipe to pump.
