Bench Testing: Rotor
NOTE:
Information on testing rotor, stator, diodes and IC regulator for Justy models is not available.
- On Legacy and XT, measure slip ring outer wear. If worn more than .04" (1.0 mm), replace rotor. Standard diameter is 1.063" (27 mm). Wear limit is 1.024" (26 mm). On all models, inspect slip rings for contamination or roughness. Polish with No. 500 or 600 emery paper.
- Check continuity between rotor slip rings. See ROTOR SLIP RING CONTINUITY table. If proper resistance or continuity is not present, replace rotor. Connect ohmmeter between one slip ring at a time and rotor core. If continuity exists, replace rotor assembly. Check ball bearing and replace as necessary.
