Distributor (Optical)

Optical sensing unit (crank angle sensor) in distributor signals ECM of crankshaft angle and identifies cylinder No. 1. System consists of distributor, ignition coil, and power transistor. Based on input from crank angle sensor, ECM sends signals to power transistor, which turns ignition coil on and off.
