Overhaul - 4-Speed: Description
Automatic transaxle is electronically controlled by a Transmission Control Module (TCM). The TCM controls shift points, engine braking, lock-up torque converter operation and other various operations. Transmission features a hydraulic lock-up torque converter, 2 planetary gear sets, 2 one-way clutches, 5 multi-plate clutches and a brake band.
An electronically controlled full-time AWD system is available. This system has a transfer hydraulic pressure control unit incorporating duty solenoid and multi-plate transfer type clutch on rear of transmission. See Fig 1 .
