Test 8: Checking Liftgate Switch Circuit

  1. Disconnect liftgate key lock switch connector. Measure resistance between liftgate switch connector terminal No. 2 and security control module connector terminal No. 5. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair wiring between liftgate switch and security control module.
  2. Measure resistance between ground and liftgate switch connector terminal No. 2. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair wiring between liftgate switch and chassis ground.
  3. Measure resistance between liftgate switch connector terminals. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace liftgate switch.
  4. Measure resistance between liftgate switch connector terminals while pushing in switch. If resistance is less than 10 ohs, replace liftgate switch. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace security control module. See SECURITY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
