Draining Fuel
WARNING:
- Place "No fire" signs near the working area.
- Be careful not to spill fuel on the floor.
- Release fuel pressure. See RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE , Fuel.
- Open fuel flap lid, and remove fuel filler cap.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove access hole lid.
- Disconnect connector from fuel pump.
- Disconnect quick connector, and then disconnect fuel delivery hose (A). See REMOVAL , Fuel Delivery, Return and Evaporation Lines.
- Move clips, and then disconnect fuel return hose (B) and jet pump hose (C).
- Remove nuts which install fuel pump assembly onto fuel tank.
- Take off fuel pump from fuel tank.
- Drain fuel from fuel tank by using a hand pump.WARNING: Do not use a motor pump when draining fuel.
- Remove fuel sub level sensor. See REMOVAL , Fuel Sub Level Sensor.
- Drain fuel from left side of fuel tank.WARNING: Do not use a motor pump when draining fuel.
- After draining fuel, reinstall fuel pump and fuel sub level sensor.
Tighten nuts of fuel pump in alphabetical sequence shown in figure to specified torque.
- Tightening torque: 4.4 N.m (0.45 kgf-m, 3.3 ft-lb)
