Section 159 (Manual HVAC System): Compressor: Removal

Perform oil return operation. < Ref. to OPERATION , Compressor Oil.>
Turn A/C switch OFF and stop the engine.
Using refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. < Ref. to OPERATION , Refrigerant Recovery Procedures.>
Disconnect ground cable from battery.
Remove duct (A).

Disconnect low-pressure hose (A) and high-pressure hose (B).
CAUTION: Be careful not to lose O-rings on hose. Immediately seal hose with a plug or vinyl tape to prevent the entry of contamination.

Remove V-belt. < Ref. to REMOVAL , V-belt.>
Remove generator. < Ref. to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION REMOVAL, Generator.>
Disconnect compressor harness from body harness.
Remove bolts from compressor bracket.

Loosen bolts to remove compressor from bracket.
