Description & Operation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Subaru Outback and 2002 Subaru Legacy. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Before disassembling or reassembling parts always disconnect the battery ground cable. When replacing radio, control module, and other parts provided with memory functions, record memory contents before disconnecting the battery ground cable. Otherwise, the memory will be erased. To reprogram, see SUBARU under COMPUTER RELEARN article in GENERAL INFORMATION.

Reassemble in reverse order of disassembly, unless otherwise indicated. Adjust parts to the given specifications. Connect connectors and hoses securely during reassembly. After reassembly, make sure functional parts operate smoothly.

NOTE: In some places, moon roof is referred to as sun roof.

Driving at high speeds with the moon roof fully open can cause annoying wind noise. To reduce wind noise, close the moon roof up to the initial stop position.

If the moon roof cannot be closed through switch operation because of system failure, it can be closed manually using a hex-head wrench. For the procedure, refer to ON-VEHICLE SERVICE  .
