Front Knuckle/Hub: Disassembly

  1. Using hub remover, support housing and hub securely.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch polished area of hub. See Fig 2DO NOT reuse the bearing if the hub was removed.
  2. Attach hub stand to housing and drive hub out. See Fig 1. If inner bearing race remains in the hub, remove it with appropriate tool.
  3. Remove disc cover from housing. See Fig 3.
  4. Using a standard screwdriver, remove outer and inner oil seals.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage housing at removal.
  5. Using flat tip screwdriver, remove snap ring. See Fig 4.
  6. Using housing stand, support housing securely.
  7. Using bearing puller, press inner race to drive out outer bearing. See Fig 5.
  8. Using hub stand and a hydraulic press, drive hub bolts out. See Fig 6.
