Description & Operation: Alarms: Notes

The security system will give the following alarm indications when triggered:

• Parking lights flash, horn sounds intermittently, and starter motor will not operate.
• Alarm automatically resets after 30 seconds; however the alarm will reactivate if vehicle is tampered with again. The alarm will continue activation up to 6 times if any sensor continues to be activated.

The alarm is triggered by:

• Ignition switch being turned on while in armed state.
• Opening a door or the rear gate.
• Physical shock to vehicle (e.g. breaking glass or forced entry).

There are 2 alarm levels for shock. Warning and Alarm:

1. Warning Mode  - Alarm detects lower level vibrations and triggers 2 warning chirps from the horn and 2 flashes on the lights, as a deterrent to would-be vandals.
2. Alarm Mode  - Higher levels of shock are detected and the system will go into full alarm.

When activated, the security system causes the parking lights to flash, the horn to sound intermittently, the security indicator light on the combination meter to flash rapidly, and the starter motor circuit to disable. Alarms automatically turn OFF after 30 seconds; however they will be reactivated if the vehicle is tampered with again. Alarms are activated when a door, rear gate, or rear hatch is opened without using the keyless entry transmitter. (When the system is armed, the alarms will be triggered even if a door is opened by releasing the inside door handle or the rear hatch is opened by operating the rear hatch release lever.) Alarms are also activated when impact to vehicle's body is sensed.
