Front Vehicle Speed Sensor: Removal

Set up the vehicle on the lift.
Disconnect battery ground cable.

Remove air cleaner case or intake chamber.
Refer to REMOVAL , Air Cleaner Case. (2.5L Model)

Refer to REMOVAL , Air Intake Chamber. (3.0L Model)
Disconnect transmission connector.

Remove pitching stopper.
Refer to REMOVAL , Transmission Mounting System.
Remove the transmission connector from stay.
Lift-up the vehicle.
Clean transmission exterior.
Drain ATF completely.
NOTE: Tighten ATF drain plug after draining ATF.
1. Tightening torque: 25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.1 ft-lb)

Remove front, center, rear exhaust pipes and muffler.
2.5 Model

Refer to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe REMOVAL , Rear Exhaust Pipe and REMOVAL , Muffler.

3.0 Model

Refer to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe, REMOVAL , Rear Exhaust Pipe and REMOVAL , Muffler.
Remove the shield cover.
Remove the propeller shaft.
Place transmission jack under crossmember.
NOTE: Make sure that the support plates of transmission jack don't touch the crossmember.
Remove the transmission rear crossmember bolts.

Lower the AT jack.
NOTE: Do not separate the AT jack and transmission.
Remove the oil cooler outlet pipe.
NOTE: When removing outlet pipe, be careful not to lose balls and springs used with retaining screws.
Remove front and rear vehicle speed sensor and torque converter turbine speed sensor.

Remove oil pan.
Disconnect duty solenoids and ATF temperature sensor connectors. Remove connectors from clip and disconnect connectors.

Remove harness assembly.
